Ergonomic Work Station Set-Up

The angles and information in the picture below summarise the basic requirements you need to correctly set up your computer workstation.

People with an incorrect set-up usually suffer occupational-overuse type symptoms a lot sooner than those colleagues who have adjusted their setup as outlined below.

Occupational Overuse Symptoms can include:

  • back and neck pain
  • headaches
  • visual disturbances
  • tingling or numbness in the arms and hands

  5. Use a document holder, preferably in-line with the computer screen
  6. Your wrists should be flat and straight in relation to forearms to use the keyboard and mouse
  7. Your arms and elbows should be relaxed and close to your body (as per the diagram above)
