Mark Green - Physiotherapist
Mark graduated from The University of Otago, New Zealand in 1996. Since that time he has worked as a musculoskeletal specialist in New Zealand and England, based mainly in private sports practices. He has treated a number of national and international level sports people from a variety of sports including cricket, rugby and endurance athletes.
He has competed himself at national and international level at both running and multisport events, and has experienced a number of accidents and injuries as a result. The experience of sustaining injuries himself, has greatly improved his understanding of injuries and rehabilitation. It allows him to approach treatment from the aspect of the patient as well as the physiotherapist.
Chris Cheesmore - Physiotherapist
Chris qualified from Manchester University in 1998 and gained experience in spinal and sports injury rehabiliation at clinics and hospitals in both public and private sectors.
He has worked in the UK, Australia and New Zealand and gained extensive experience in winter sports injuries whilst working as a physiotherapist on New Zealand ski fields. Chris is a keen snowboarder and endurance runner, and he has a particular interest in sports specific rehabilltation.
Mark Matthews - Physiotherapist
Mark graduated from University of Otago, New Zealand in 2002 and has since gained valuable experience in public and private sectors both in New Zealand and here in United Kingdom. Mark has worked with top level athletes in a variety of sports. He has competed in running, mountain biking and multi-sports events and is currently the physio (and a rider) for the AWCycles road cycling team
Mark has a special interest in sporting biomechanics and its predisposing factors leading to injuries
Maria Elliott- Women's Health Physiotherapist & Physiolates Instructor
Maria is a highly qualified and accomplished Women's Health Physiotherapist with 20 years of experience working in the NHS and privately. She offers a "hands on" approach with a keen emphasis on posture, muscle imbalance, correct alignment, pelvic floor activation and therapeutic exercise.
Maria is also a certified Pilates Instructor with APPI, and has combined her Physiotherapy treatment with her Pilates experience to create "Physiolates"
George Ramft - Podiatrist
George has 15 years experience in private practice, mainly within sports injury practices, working in conjunction with physiotherapists, orthopaedic surgeons and sports physicians.
His expertise ranges from assessing problems with foot and leg function in childhood, through developing adolescent athletes, to recreational sports men and women, and also elite international level athletes.
Lisa Opie - Sports Massage Therapist
Lisa has been working as a Sports and Deep Tissue Massage Therapist for 7 years, since graduating from St Mary’s University/College, Twickenham, with a degree in Sport Science/Sport Rehabilitation (BSc Hons).
She was an England International squash player for 13 years, reaching World number 2 and British number 1. Winning the British Open in 1991(first British female in 30 years) was the pinnacle of her career, a feat that gained her an MBE in the 1995 New Years Honours List.
Lisa's experience of competing at the very top level of her sport for a number of years, has helped considerably in her understanding of Sports Massage and the benefits it provides.
Leon Hackett - Sports Massage Therapist
Leon qualified as a Sports Massage Therapist in 2001 from St Mary's University, and is currently studying to complete his degree in Sports Therapy.
Leon has worked as a personal trainer for the past 15 years, which has given him a very good understanding as to how the body reacts under the stresses of exercise.
